Welcome to (816) Smoked Que – Where Flavor Meets Legacy
At (816) Smoked Que, every dish we serve is built on family tradition, love for great food, and the joy of seeing people smile with that first bite of flavorful, smoky barbecue. Our story is inspired by my granddad, my father-in-law, and my great-grandmother — whose recipes continue to shape the soul of what we do today.
My granddad owned a beloved storefront restaurant on the south side of Saint Louis and even helped build iconic landmarks, including the Gateway Arch. My father-in-law, Chef Jim Muse, became one of the first minority cooks for the Minnesota Vikings and created the legendary “Purple Pride BBQ Sauce,” which was sold in Minnesota stores.
And we can’t forget my great-grandmother’s sweet potato recipe — now known as our famous Candy Yams — a timeless comfort food that has been passed down through generations and still brings warmth to every plate.
Through (816) Smoked Que, we carry forward these family recipes, honoring their memories and legacies by sharing authentic barbecue and soulful sides with every customer. Each dish is a tribute to the people who built the foundation for what we serve today.
